Free MCP server
Regulatory updates inside Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or your favourite LLM
Add Reg Monitoring to your AI assistant and ask it about financial regulation. It searches regulatory updates from regulators worldwide, checks upcoming deadlines and enforcement actions, and links every answer to its source. No account, no API key.
Server URL
https://mcp.regmonitoring.com/mcp - Works in any assistant that supports remote MCP servers
- Free and read-only, with no sign-in
- Refreshed twice a day with the rest of the site
What you can ask it
Once it is added, ask in plain English. Your assistant decides when to call the server, and answers with links to our pages and to the regulator's original publication.
- “What has the FCA published on the Consumer Duty in the last three months?”
- “Which consultations affecting asset managers close in the next 30 days?”
- “What has the SEC fined broker-dealers for this year?”
- “Catch me up on last month’s regulatory changes in the UK and EU.”
- “Has MAS or the SFC said anything new about crypto custody?”
- “Which compliance deadlines are coming up for payment firms in the EU?”
How to add it
Every assistant needs the same thing: the URL above, added as a custom connector. There is no sign-in, so choose no authentication if asked. Menu names change between app versions; if a step doesn't match, look for "connectors", "apps" or "MCP" in settings.
Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app)
- Open Settings → Connectors (in some versions, Customize → Connectors).
- Choose Add custom connector, name it "Reg Monitoring" and paste the URL.
- In a chat, switch it on from the tools menu and ask a question.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an organisation owner may need to add the connector first.
ChatGPT
- In Settings, turn on developer mode (under Apps or Advanced, depending on version).
- Create a new connector (app), paste the URL and set authentication to none.
- Select it in a chat and ask a question.
Which ChatGPT plans can add custom connectors has changed several times. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin controls it. If you can't see the option, check OpenAI's help centre for your plan.
Gemini
In Gemini Enterprise, an admin adds it as a custom MCP server under
Connected apps. If your Gemini app offers custom apps in its settings, add one with
the URL. For Gemini CLI, add this to settings.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"regmonitoring": {
"httpUrl": "https://mcp.regmonitoring.com/mcp"
}
}
} Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http regmonitoring https://mcp.regmonitoring.com/mcp Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients
Add it as a remote HTTP server. In Cursor's mcp.json (VS Code uses a servers
key and "type": "http"):
{
"mcpServers": {
"regmonitoring": {
"url": "https://mcp.regmonitoring.com/mcp"
}
}
} What it can do
- Search regulatory updates
- By regulator, jurisdiction, topic, sector, firm type, content type, date or significance, with free-text search on top.
- Read the analysis
- For significant updates: what changed, who is affected, what firms should do and the key dates, with links to the source.
- List upcoming deadlines
- Consultation closes, compliance dates and rules taking effect, filtered to your firm type and jurisdictions.
- Search enforcement actions
- Fines and sanctions across regulators, with the firm, amount and breach type where we have parsed them.
- Get the monthly briefing
- Our editor-written round-up of the month by region: the quickest way to catch up.
- Check coverage and filters
- Which regulators and values exist, so the assistant can tell "nothing happened" from "not covered".
Where the answers come from
The MCP server serves the same data as this site. Twice a day our pipeline collects new publications from financial regulators, classifies them by topic, sector, firm type and urgency, and writes an analysis of the significant ones. Your assistant gets that structured data rather than a web search, so it can filter precisely, and every result carries a link to our page and to the regulator's original. Regulators' own text appears only as short extracts, as it does on the site. Browse the same data in the live feed, the deadline calendar or the archive search.
Fair use and privacy
Free and read-only, with rate limits to keep it fair for everyone. We don't store what you ask. Answers are regulatory information, not legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a Claude connector for financial regulatory updates?
Yes. Reg Monitoring's free MCP server gives Claude searchable regulatory updates from financial regulators worldwide. Add https://mcp.regmonitoring.com/mcp as a custom connector and ask Claude about new rules, consultations, deadlines or enforcement actions; it answers from our data and links to each source.
Can I get regulatory updates in ChatGPT?
Yes, wherever your ChatGPT plan lets you add a custom connector (app) from a URL: add https://mcp.regmonitoring.com/mcp with no authentication. On business workspaces an admin may need to enable it.
Does it work with Gemini or my favourite LLM?
It works with any assistant or tool that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP, including Gemini Enterprise, Gemini CLI, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. Add the same URL; no sign-in is needed.
What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call outside tools and data sources. A server like this one gives your assistant live, searchable data it would otherwise not have, instead of relying on what it learned in training or a general web search.
Is it free? Do I need an account or API key?
It is free, and there is no account, API key or sign-in. Paste the URL and it works.
Which regulators does it cover?
Financial regulators across the UK, US, EU, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, including the FCA, PRA, Bank of England, SEC, CFTC, Federal Reserve, OCC, FDIC, CFPB, ESMA, EBA, ECB, BaFin, AMF, FINMA, MAS, SFC, ASIC and the DFSA, plus global standard-setters such as the FSB and the Basel Committee.
How up to date is the data?
Our pipeline collects new publications from every regulator twice a day, and the MCP server is refreshed after each run, so it is never more than about half a day behind the site.
Do you store what I ask?
No. We record which tools are used so we know what is useful, but not your questions or search terms. Your conversation stays with your AI provider.
Is it legal advice?
No. It gives your assistant regulatory information with links to the original publications, not legal advice. Check the source before relying on anything.
